alrighty, just my first post and i've already put it off by 3 hours because i'm distracted by a project. anyway, just a little bit about what this blog will consist of, for anyone who may care in the future...
i actually never ever (ever) thought i would have a blog in the first place, and i didn't really even plan to set it up today. it's crossed my mind a few times the past week or so that maybe i should get one of those awesome DIY/art/craft blogs that i'm always mooching ideas and tutorials from on the internets! i am totally new to this, so please forgive the transparency of my clueless-ness.
anyway, the things i'm doing right NOW mostly revolve around sewing. i'm also crocheting a lot because fall and winter are coming and last year i did great selling my adorable scarflettes. i graduated as an Art teacher in may, and in this economy those jobs barely exist, so i plan to sub this year and keep making my stuff and see where everything goes for awhile. the big advantage of graduating in art ed is that you have to have all kinds of skills, because you have to be able to teach them all in a classroom, so that means my skills (even if they're only intro level) range from painting to metals to ceramics to photography and almost anything in between. i find myself moving a lot between a lot of different projects, which i think my husband actually finds annoying, but he's too sweet and tolerant to say it, plus we've only been married 1.5 months.
all i really know is that i love to create, i can't help but do it, and i'm currently in a place where i can take time to learn new skills (like sewing and quilting) and hopefully try to find out exactly where my creative passion lies and maybe have a go at doing what i love forever. maybe!
